About PDF to Markdown Conversion

PDF (Portable Document Format) is a widely used document format that preserves visual layout across devices. While great for printing and sharing, the text inside a PDF can be hard to reuse or edit.

Markdown is a lightweight plain-text format used for documentation, note-taking apps (Obsidian, Notion), static site generators, and version-controlled prose.

This converter extracts the text content from your PDF and outputs it as clean, flowing Markdown. If the PDF contains document metadata (title, author), it will appear as a header at the top of the file.

Note: scanned PDFs (image-based) cannot be converted without OCR software — only PDFs with selectable text are supported.
